When you first come to the office we will assess whether there is any possibility that you will be eligible for public funding through legal aid. If you are on certain means tested benefits then you would be automatically eligible (please bring evidence with you if that is the case).

Please bear in mind that legal aid acts as a loan rather than a gift and therefore you may subsequently have to repay the money at some stage in the future to the Legal Services Commission, but not to such a degree that you would have to sell your home . We would still give you regular updates as to the costs incurred.
